CUP- pioneers help to needy children |

Fulfilling a request made by the principal of Udakekulawala Maha Vidyalaya, Bujjamuwa, a stock of books for the school library and sports items were donated by CUP on 27th March 2009. To make the day more eventful CUP had also organized an art competition to assess the talents of children, and from among the competitors nine were adjudged on the same day as outstanding winners by Mr. S.A.Dissanayake , a renowned children’s artist invited by CUP to evaluate and select the winners.

Award Ceremony of the Katuwawala IT Centre |

Children’s Upliftment Programme (CUP) together with Bosath children’s Educational Foundation (BCEF) conducted a free IT Training programme for the students of the Sunday school at Sri Paramavishuddaramaya Temple, Katuwawala. An award ceremony was held on the 07th of November 2009 for the students who successfully completed the six moth beginners and advanced course of this programm.

A Play Ground for the Children of Pipena -Kekulu Pre- School |

CUP has extended its support to answer a long standing need of Pipena Kekulu Pre- School in Nambapana, Ingiriya by developing their playground. Ms.C.Kodituwakku and Standard Charted Bank contributed funds for the see–saw and the set of swings. Ms.C. Wanasinghe, Mrs.Rani Weerasuria , Mr.R.Dissanayake and Ms. Tamara de Silva contributed funds to colour-wash the school and to build a fence around the premises.

Lakdiva Puvatha Blog was Launched |

To enhance the knowledge of Sri Lankan history among children CUP publishes a series of articles in both Sinhala and English languages on their website. These articles containing interesting information and colour pictures are very popular among children. Inspired by this popular demand CUP developed a separate blog for "Lakdiva Puvatha" where children are able to give their comments on the articles.
