CUP successfully opened their 9th Little Library at Anuradhapura

The children of Pragathi Children’s Society, Buddhist Centre, Rambewa, Anuradhapura were able to start a Little Library on their own with the support of CUP on 18th June 2011.

The concept of Little Library is to enhance the ability of reading among children and also to encourage them towards creative writing. The children will get more opportunities to learn leadership skills, team work, organizing patterns and sharing with others through the experience gained in this project.

Mr. Prasada Galhena, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Shipping Corporation, is the key sponsor of this project.   Ms.S.Weerasooria made a donation of a valuable book cupboard to this Little Library.  Travel arrangements for CUP officials to travel to Anuradhapura were made by Mr.Roshan Gunawardena.

Ms. Sandyani Abesekara,the Assistant Divisional Secretariat, Rambewa, Ms.Champika Damayanthi, Samurdi Development Officer,Rambewa together with CUP officials  Mr.Lal Saranapala, Mr.Harsha Gomes, Mrs.Nadee Dissanayake, Ms.Chathurika Tilakaratne, Mr.Nishantha Perera, Mr.Rohana Perera and Mrs.Beverly Saranapala also participated in this event. Mr.Shanaka Rathwate and Mr.Charith Rangana grace the occasion on behalf of Mr.Prasad Glehena.
