IT Learning Centre at Lelwala

Bosath Children’s Educational Foundation opened another computer learning centre in Sri Lanka on 24 April 2021. The centre was launched in collaboration with Children’s Upliftment Programme (CUP) at Sri Vijayaramaya, Lelwala to educate Buddhist monks from various temples in the Neluwa area.

Venerable Dr Gunaratana Thera, the founder of Bosath Children’s Educational Foundation, attended the gathering via Zoom from Los Angeles, U.S.A. and explained the value of gaining computer knowledge towards higher education. Chief incumbent of Lelwala Sri Vijayaramaya, Royal Pandith Rev. Kotapola Vippassi Thera, Sri Vijayaramaya, Lelwala, Neluwa addressing the beneficiaries and pointed out the future opportunities of learning Information Technology.

Chief Incumbent of Batuwangala Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Galu-Matara Dedisawe Pradana Adikarana Sanganayaka, Venerable Mawanane Amarawansha Thera, graced the occation as the chief guest.

CUP officials, Harsha Gomes- Vice President, Secretary- Nadee Dissanayake, Treasurer- Nishantha Perera, Assistant Secretary- Damayanthi Perera, Assistant Treasurer- Suranga and the members Rasika Udagama and Padma Gunathilaka presented at the opening ceremony.

CUP was founded in May 2004 with the primary objective of building up the future of the younger generation of the country.
