Fulfilling a request made by the principal of Udakekulawala Maha Vidyalaya, Bujjamuwa, a stock of books for the school library and sports items were donated by CUP on 27th March 2009. To make the day more eventful CUP had also organized an art competition to assess the talents of children, and from among the competitors nine were adjudged on the same day as outstanding winners by Mr. S.A.Dissanayake , a renowned children’s artist invited by CUP to evaluate and select the winners.

The performances made to welcome the CUP officials and the colourful items presented in three different media, Sinhala , Tamil, and English made the event more meaningful and manifesting a touch of ethnic harmony. A Special thank you tribute goes to the well wishers, Mr. L.Saranapala, Mr. A.Jayalath, Mrs. T. de Silva, Mr. N.Perera, Mr. R. Udagama, Ms. G. Jayasooriya and Mr. Lalaka and family who always extend their hands towards the needy children in association with CUP.
