CUP was able to establish an IT Centre for children at Sri Devadhara Sunday School Pannipitiya on 26th September 2010, facilitated by a generous donation of four computers by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Sri Lanka.
This will be an IT Centre for the children of the area irrespective of their ethnicity. The administration of this centre will be by the CUP Association. Hand books containing instructions on computer usage were given free of charge to students .Two volunteers from the area has been vested with the responsibility of teaching IT to children.
A few reputed Associations of the village and the Dayaka Sabhawa of the temple have also expressed their fullest interest and support to develop the Centre.
Mr.Nimal Dassanayake – National Programme Officer (SDC), Mr.Vasantha Senarathna – Social service Officer, Dehiwala, Divisional Secratariat, and the CUP Officials Mr.U.R.Jayaweera Bandara , Mr.Lal Saranapala, Mrs.N.T.A.Dissanayake, Mr.Harsha Gomes, Mr.Jagath Kariyakarawana, and Mr.Nishantha Perea were present at the event.
