Piyumi Srimali studying in Grade eight at Sri Sumangala Balika Vidyalaya, Panadura was selected to receive funds under the ‘Sisu Diriya’ Scholarship Programme of CUP.

Piyumi excels in studies and has proved that she is worthy to receive the scholarship. She joined Sri Sumangala Balika Vidyalaya by passing the grade five scholarship examination. She is also good in athletics and has many achievements to her credit at school level. Piyumi enjoys reading during her leisure and her ambition is to become a doctor.

The first installment of the scholarship was handed over to Piyumi by Mrs. Rohini Swarnalatha who has volunteered to support Piyumi in her studies, on the 20th February 2012 at CUP Office. Vice President of CUP Harsha Gomes, and Nadee Dissanayake, Secretary took part in the event. Piyumi’s mother and Mr.Saman Nandana were also present.
