The 18th CUP Little Library was ceremoniously opened on 4th August 2012 at the Lama Samajaya premises in Thulasiripura, Trincomalee, in the presence of a large gathering of happy & enthusiastic Children and their proud Parents & Well-wishers.

It was also a momentous event. For the first time in the history of CUP and the Little Library Initiative, a generous Donor from overseas - the United States of America – was instrumental in funding this entire project. A group of kids from North Carolina, led by Miss Olivia Simpson and including Ms juliet jensen and Jennifer Falchi collected the requisite funds by organizing a Fundraiser in the form of a Stage Play. Thus, the CUP has entered a new phase, spreading it’s wings overseas.!!!

The occasion was graced by CUP Officials Harsha Gomes – Vice President, Nadee Dissanayake – Secretary, M.M.Maznavi – Treasurer, Manjuma Salgadu, Nishantha Perera, Rasika Udagama, Sasanka Udagama and Dilhara Karunanayake.
