With the support of many donors who generously contributed towards the well being of children, a famous artist Somalatha Subasinghe’s Topptiwelenda Drama was staged by CUP (children's Upliftment Programme) on the 20.09.2014 at Tower Hall, Maradana Colombo.
This was organized by the CUP Team who have happily contributed time out of their busy schedule, as a fund raising project.
Children’s Upliftment Programme (CUP) opened its 31st Little Library at Ikiriyagoda KanishtaVidyalaya, Keselpotha, Mapakadawewa, Badulla, benefitting close to 200 students in the school 06th September 2014.
Nigel O’shea worked as a Vice President at Emirates Airlines and the Head of services and deliveries at Sri Lankan Airlines during the period of 10 years of living in Sri Lanka passed away last Friday 20 June 2014 in Dubai. His body was taken to London for burial on Friday 18 July to Hanworth Crematorioum, Hounslow Road, Hanworth, Feltham, Middlesex, TW13 5JH, UK
Nigel funded Yasal Nilmin Samarajeewa, a student of the School for the Blind, Rathmalana under CUP Sisu Diriya Scholarship Programme for three years.
The 30th Little Library of CUP was opened at the Community Centre in Aushadhapitiya, Vavuniyawa. About 400 children in the village and around will be the beneficiaries of this library.
The 29th Little Library of CUP was opened at Neeththa Vidyalaya, Ampara on 1st June 2014.
The main objective of setting up this library is to enhance the interest in reading among young learners and ultimately to create child writers. About 100 school children would benefit from it at the initial stage.
The 28th Little Library of CUP was opened in Bakmitiyawa, Ampara on 31st May 2014, together with “Kalana Mithuru Lama Samajaya”.

“Sisu Diriya” scholarship programme, one of the main projects of CUP, which offers financial support to needy students in their education, reached its '100th beneficiary' recently.
