The Children's Upliftment Programme (CUP) together with the member students of the Little Library at Sri Vishuddharamaya temple, Sinha Udagama, Polonaruwa organized and conducted its fifth Child Writer's Project on 6th & 7th August 2016. The Story Book titled “Muhudu Yaluwo”was launched on 24 December 2016. The story is the result of a 2 day workshop.
The Children's Upliftment Programme (CUP) together with the member students of the Little Library at Seeradunna, Kurunegala organized and conducted its fourth Child Writer's Project on 9th & 10th July 2016. The Story Book titled “Napuru Lora” was launched on 11 December 2016.
CUP held their fourth twoday Workshop on “Creating Child Writers” on 6th & 7th August 2016. The members of CUP’s 21th Little Library – Sri Sanga Bodhi Sunday School, Singhe Udagama, Polonnaruwa were given the opportunity to take part in this workshop.
Mrs. Marina Nirmalanathan who is currently residing in Australia came forward to help children in their education under CUP Sisu Diriya Schlarship Programme. On behalf of Mrs. Marina, her parents of Mr & Mrs Nirmalananthan intend to visit the beneficiaries during their holidays in Sri Lanka
CUP held their third two day Workshop on “Creating Child Writers” on 9th & 10th July 2016. The members of CUP’s 25th Little Library - the Siddhartha Children’s Society, Thalwita, Seeradunna, Kurunegala were given the opportunity to take part in this workshop.
Celebrating the Vesak Season, CUP organized “Vesak Bethi Gee - 2016” with the participation of students of Sri Dammarama Sunday School, Kudabibula, Hambantota, on 05th June 2016.
This precious project was sponsored by Cliftex (Pvt) Ltd with the intention of giving children an opportunity to show their talents in music.
8th Annual General Meeting of CUP was held on 31st March 2016 at Global Towers, Wellawatta. Many donors who have been working with CUP through the years were also present at this event. The Executive Committee elected for the ensuing year is as follows:
The Children's Upliftment Programme (CUP) together with the member students of the Little Library at Sri Dammarama Sunday School, Kudabibula, Hambantota organized and conducted its third Child Writer's Project on 18th & 19th July 2015. The Story Book titled “Api Mithuro” (We are Friends), including content, graphics and layout, which was created by the Children after a 2-Day Workshop was launched on 27 March 2016.
CUP recently donated English Dictionaries and Sinhala Dictionaries to thirty students of Sri Sumanajothi Sunday School, Handapangoda, Horana and to forty two students who marked best records at the annual term test at Royal College, Horana.
