CUP organized the “Little Storyteller” competition for the children in Sri Lanka. The project's key objective was to give children opportunities to enhance their creative thinking while developing presentation skills during the pandemic. The theme of the competition was “COVID changed my life.” The winners were selected in different age groups from 5 to 12 years by the experts in the field, Mr. Athula Ransirilal, the Director, Lanka Television and Radio Academy, and Dr. S. S. Jeyaprakash, Assistant Director, Tower Hall Theatre Foundation.

CUP together with Bosath Children’s Education Foundation opened an IT learning center at Sri Wijayaramaya temple at Lelwala, Neluwa, Galle.
The primary objective of the project is to train and develop children for the new normal in order to face challenges in online education programs, knowledge sharing activities and child related entertainment.

CUP involves in the project called Cerebral Visual Impairment Project (CVIP), which supports children who are visually impaired. The Children's Upliftment Programme (CUP), with the help of benevolent donors of our country, has successfully contributed towards set-up a SriLanka Second Visual Rehabilitation Unit at Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital, Ragama, recently. This Special Unit will be treating the Gampaha District's nearby residence with visual impairment syndrome.

CUP successfully set up a child friendly Little Library at SOS Piliyandala recently. The objective of the project is to encouraged and enhance children’s’ reading skills and creative writing skills while developing team spirit, leadership skills, and learning to share with one another. This was a rewarding opportunity for about 100 children in the village. Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka and members of the CUP were present at this wonderful occasion.

8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Children’s Upliftment Programme (CUP) was held on 21st November 2019 at Sri Sambuddhathawa Mandiraya, Colombo 05. Over thirty donors who have been working with CUP through the years were also present at this event.

The Children's Upliftment Program opened its 41st little Library in Ashokapura Naththandiya on the the 10th of August. The library was opened in Memory of late Rajiv Dissanayake, Rajiv was dedicated donor and a committed supporter of the Children's Upliftment Program for many years. The Little Library was funded by the Dissanayake family together with help of Mrs Rani Weerasuriya.

The Children's Upliftment Program (CUP) successfully conducted a two day workshop on Library Science in Pelmadulla, with the intention of developing a deeper knowledge and understanding of Library Science among the younger generations.

CUP successfully set up a Little Library for the children of Sri Ashokaramaya Sunday School at Thawalama, Sri Asokaramaya Purana Viharaya with the generous sponsorship by Mr Daya Gamage, the Chairman of Daya Group of Companies. This project was initiated by Mr Nishantha Rathnayake, Senior Accountant of Daya Group of Companies. This was a rewarding opportunity for about 200 students of the Sunday School.

The 39th Little Library of CUP was opened in Polgasowita, Kesbewa on 27th January2019, together with the students of Sri Wimalarathana Sunday School at Halpita, Polgasowita.

It was 38 th successful Little Library of CUP, opening for the children of Sri Dammagaweshi Sunday School at Nalla, Diwuldeniya, Mirigama, with the generous sponsorship by Bosath Children’s Educational Foundation. This was a rewarding opportunity for about 200 students of Sri Dammagaweshi Sunday School.
