The Children's Upliftment Programme (CUP) together with twenty five child members of Kurana, Kotigala, Sri Sumanajothi Little Library organised and conducted its second Child Writer's Project on 27th February & 1st March 2014 at Sri Sumanajothi Sunday School.
The 27th Little Library was inaugurated by CUP on 27 February 2014 at Hinnarandeniya, Sri Pragnawansa Damma School of Sri Bodhirajaramaya in the District of Kandy.
The main sponsor of the event was Nithyakalyani Jewellers, Wellawatta. This project was co-ordinated by the Rotary Club - Colombo East. Also, Roshan Gunawardana extended his kind support to make the event a success.
The Children's Upliftment Programme (CUP) together with the "Sudilena Lama Samajaya" organised and conducted its first Child Writer's Project on 20th & 21st July 2013 at the Dandeniya Purana Maha Viharaya in Matara. The Story Book titled 'Pani Kewum', including content, graphics and layout, which was created by the Children after a 2-Day Workshop was launched on 05 January 2014.
The 26th Little Library was inaugurated by CUP on 22 December 2013 with the children of “Samanala Lama Samajaya” at Polpitiya, Ginigathhena in the Nuwara-Eliya District.

The children of Siddhartha Children’s Society, Thalwita, Seeradunna, Kurunegala were able to start a Little Library on their own with the support of CUP on 9th November 2013.
The concept of Little Library is to enhance the ability of reading among children and also to encourage them towards creative writing. The children will get more opportunities to learn leadership skills, team work, organizing patterns and sharing with others through the experience gained in this project.
Nimasha Sandaruwani studying in grade six at School for the Blind at Ratmalana qualified to be a beneficiary of Sisu Diriya Scholarship of CUP. Mr.Prasad Galhena, the Chairman of Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority handed over the first installment to Sandaruwani at a simple ceremony held at the BMICH, Colombo 07 on 12 October 2013.
