Samadhi Varsha studying in grade four at S de S Jayasinghe Vidyalaya, Dehiwala qualified to be a beneficiary of Sisu Diriya Scholarship of CUP. Samadhi hopes to become a doctor. Mr. Michael Obeyesekere sponsors Samadhi. Mr. Justin Gamage handed over the first installment to Samadhi on behalf of his friend, Mr.Obeyesekere at a simple ceremony held at the National Gem & Jewellary Authority, Colombo on 30 March 2013.

‘Yodaya and Pandithuma’ two children’s comics of veteran writer and artist S.A. Dissnayake, eventually developed into a book as a fund raiser for CUP, was launched on 27.03.2013 at Mahaweli Centre, Colombo.


CUP 22nd Little Library to Mangalagama The 22nd CUP Little Library was ceremoniously opened on 16th March 2013 at the community centre in Mangalagama, Batticaloa in the presence of a large gathering of happy & enthusiastic Children and their proud Parents & Well-wishers.


The CUP 21st Little Library was established at Sri Sanga Bodhi Sunday School, Singhe Udagama, Polonnaruwa. The aim of this project is to improve the reading habits and the creative writing among children. About 112 children of Sri Sanga Bodhi Sunday School will become the reader members who would immensely benefit from this Little Library.


The twentieth Little Library was opened at Abbotsleigh Estate, Hatton on 16 February 2013. This event has been made possible with the support of Dr. & Mrs. Errol Baptist, Mr. Roshan Gunawardana, Mr. Sabeer Eqbal, Mrs. Rani Weerasooriya, Mr.Ranjith Dissanayake, Mr. Chinthaka de Silva and family and Miss.Pramada Nilanthi.


The first ever Web Radio in Sri Lanka for children was launched on 29 December 2012 at a ceremony held at Colombo.


Four designs were selected from many drawings received from our talented Sisu Diriya beneficiaries, which adorned the Greeting Cards done for the 2012 Season.

The concept of "Singithi Pothgula" - Little Library was introduced by CUP, in order to improve the reading habits and the creative writing among children. The 19thLittle Library project embarked upon by CUP was established at Alankulama, Anamaduwa in the district of Puttlam. The children of the area will become the reader members who would immensely benefit from this little library.


Madhuka Priyashan is studying in grade ten, Takshila Maha Vidyalaya, Horana was selected for CUP Sisu Diriya Scholarship. He is sponsored by CUP Sisu Diriya Scholarship Programme with the support of Trelleborg Private Limited for his education.
